  • Strictly star claims he’s suddenly welcomed twins – but baffled fans beg ‘is this real?’

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans has suddenly claimed he’s become a father for the third and fourth time after reportedly welcoming twins. The 54-year-old shared the news on Instagram on Monday afternoon, describing himself as a “proud daddy”.

The Go Compare star shared a photograph of himself holding two infants swaddled in blankets, sitting on a hospital bed. He wrote beneath the image: “Great to have these two little guys in my life. Born this morning #prouddaddy.” Fans commented messages of support on the social media post, but others were completely baffled. One asked: “Is this AI, to try and fool the newspapers? Everything online makes me skeptical now. Lol,” to which another replied: “You read my mind. Is it real?” One more person added: “This is fake right? I’m so confused why does the pic look so weird.” In the snap, Wynne appeared to be wearing two wedding rings, one on each hand.

Wynne later explained that the whole thing was a joke after Googling some symptoms, and his search told him that he was pregnant with twins. He shared that his due date was estimated to be March 1, and he would be sharing the twins’ names on his radio show.

In reality, Wynne has two children – daughter Ismay and son Taliesin. Wynne’s real children are from his marriage to professional violinist Tanwen Evans, who he was married to for 16 years.

After their separation, he began dating Liz Brookes in spring 2024. The pair swiftly got engaged but ended the engagement in January 2025. Just weeks afterwards, they reconciled. However, Wynne and Liz split once more after only nine months together.

During a Facebook Live broadcast last August, opera singer Wynne stated: “I haven’t felt this level-headed for years, having been in a bad place or a relationship that is not healthy for me. It’s now calm.”

A source told Mail Online at the time: “Wynne and Liz broke off their engagement a few weeks ago. The pressure of his new business ventures took its toll and they had a big fallout.” The insider added that Wynne was “actively trying to date again”.

The Welsh opera singer starred in BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing with dance partner Katya Jones last year, but was the subject of many controversial moments.

Wynne previously apologised for making what he described as an “inappropriate and unacceptable” comment during the Strictly Come Dancing live tour last year.

His behaviour during the show attracted attention from viewers over what some described as awkward incidents.

This included Katya appearing to turn down a high-five from Wynne. In another incident, fans spotted her moving his hand from her waist during an episode in October, which was dubbed ‘handgate’.

The duo later said the high-five moment was a “running joke” between them, while Katya insisted that it was “complete nonsense” that his hand on her waist made her feel “uncomfortable or offended me in any way”.
